2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Valedictorian Elise Adams

Elise Adams is the daughter of Will and Julie Adams. During her years at Southwood, Elise participated in choir, theater, and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Taylor University in the fall to study Accounting.

Elise stated, “I most appreciated how amazing and supportive the staff is at Southwood. I also got to spend a lot of time after school talking to several of the teachers, who are really fun people to talk to and get to know.”

Salutatorian Katelyn Ranck

Katelyn Ranck is the daughter of Brian and Sarah Ranck. This fall, she plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan University to study Nursing.

During high school, Katelyn was involved in softball, Bible study, FCA, Campus Life, choir, and theater. She is a 10-year member of 4-H. She also received the honor of participating in the County Honors Choir and All-State Honor Choir.

She is the recipient of many awards, including the Softball Mental Attitude Award and All-Academic TRC. Most notably, she is the 2023 recipient of the Lilly Scholarship, a four-year full-tuition scholarship given to one Wabash County senior each year.

Katelyn stated, “The thing I appreciated most about my years at Southwood was the community that formed there. When I need help, I have about a million people that I trust that I could turn to there, and it is just an overall fun place to be!”
