Career & Technical Training
Just across town from Southwood is an extraordinary career and technical education school, Heartland Career Center. Southwood partners with HCC to give students in Grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to spend half their school day exploring specific career paths. Heartland currently offers 17 unique career programs.
Heartland Career Center is specifically designed to assist students with honing their job search skills, identifying and working toward career goals, finding suitable careers or graduate school programs, getting referrals to employers, and boosting networking skills. We help guide students into majors or careers they may not be familiar with, then help formulate a plan to achieve those goals.
